The Rampant Darkness and Deception in the Church

I imagine some will be offended by my choice of title and likely even more offended by what I will say here. That’s ok, do you know why?  The Gospel of Jesus Christ is offensive. It’s not that I set out to offend or anger anyone, but since we are all human—we, and I do mean we, all too often tend to find the truth offensive. Again, why? Often, we see the truth, and we know what is being spoken is true, but if we are on the other side of that truth and we know this in our hearts, then we take offense. The truth is hard to swallow.

There are unfortunately so many things that the Church believes—that are in no way the truth, not even close.

For instance, many there are who think that the book of Genesis is a story, and that’s all it is, a mere story, the events depicted therein never happened. This is, of course, false and wrong, and it is exceedingly foolish to think this way. God created the Earth; He created humanity, the animals, the plants and trees, etc. To disbelieve the authenticity of Genesis is to disbelieve all of these things.

Many pick and choose what parts of the Bible they personally believe are true and what parts are fabricated or are mere stories, fairy tales. My own aunt unfortunately believed that the entire Bible was nothing more than made-up stories. Why? These stories were written down to “make us behave,” in her mind.

I was watching a church service today, and one of the other people watching stated in the chat that Bad Bunny was a Christian—I was stunned! For anyone who doesn’t know, Bad Bunny did the halftime show for the NFL Super Bowl. And what a show it was—plenty of crotch grabbing, men grinding on men, men thrusting their groins directly at the females’ rear ends, etc. This was easy to see in clips from the show; I did not watch this disgusting display. Then there are BB’s song lyrics; I won’t print them here. Let’s just say that the lyrics are absolutely disgusting, referencing graphic sex among other things. And this person thought that BB is a “Christian”??? Wow—how deceived can one be?

What about abortion? There are plenty of churchgoing people who claim to be “Christians” who think that abortion is just fine, agreeing with the left’s stated position that abortion is a right; it’s a simple healthcare choice.

No, it’s murder, period, no ifs, ands, or buts.

Here’s a quick excerpt from an article that deals with the Church and abortion, by Rob Pue, publisher of Wisconsin Christian News:

“When Sunday morning came, it was pouring rain; it was COLD, windy, and miserable. Yet more than 80 from the conference still went out and stood as witnesses “at the gates.” As people would arrive for the morning service, we attempted to hand them literature through their car windows. We were KIND. We were POLITE; we were PLEADING for them to just take a simple piece of literature. I have to tell you, you would be SHOCKED at how many of those “good church-going Christians” had no problem showing us their middle finger as they drove on by.”

Shocked? No, I’m anything but shocked; in fact, I’m not even a little bit surprised.  This is the state of a large portion of the so-called “Church” of God. Abortion is seen as being fine; “it” is not a life after all; “it” is just a grouping of cells. Wrong. As soon as the egg and the sperm meet up, that is a human being, a new life being developed under the amazing process instituted and guided by God!

People simply do not want to hear the truth! They want to be able to do whatever they desire, including killing their unborn babies. There was a pastor who was soundly criticized for saying that those who believe in abortion are not “Christian.” Well, I agree. What is abortion, besides the murder of another human being? What did God say about killing?

Others believe that those who are a part of the LGBTQ can be and are truly saved, as in real, honest-to-goodness believers in Jesus, who has saved them by His grace. Uh, no, He has not. But many believe this fallacy. Many a church has lesbians, homosexuals, and transgenders as pastors, elders, etc. in the church. This should not be. God has made it very clear that when men are with men and women are with women, this is, in His eyes, an abomination, evil.

The Church isn’t so much about God and the teaching of Him and the gospel any longer. It’s often more about being just another social gathering—sing a song, hear a few words, and then go home, and act just like the rest of the world.

“In 2014, Barna research confirmed that more than 90% of pastors KNOW the Bible speaks directly and clearly about the social, cultural, and moral issues of our day—things that are destroying marriages and families, bringing death and destruction to the innocent, and causing deep deception and confusion to our young people—but the same study showed that less than 10% of those SAME pastors will EVER preach on these issues.” (Source)

The “Church” has become dark and infested with darkness.

Read the Bible, believe what it tells you, and believe in the Son of God, who died on the cross to save you—not the world, which couldn’t care less about you and will turn on you in a heartbeat.
