Revelation 11:2—The career of the Antichrist is here stated to be 42 months, or the last 3 ½ years of the 7-year Tribulation. This is the period when God protects the Jews in the wilderness as Revelation 12:6, 14 describes. The coming world leader, commonly known as the Antichrist, has thirty-three titles in the Old Testament and thirteen in the New Testament. One of these titles, “the prince who is to come,” is from Daniel 9:26-27, where it was prophesied that the people of this “prince” would destroy the city and the sanctuary. This reference to the Romans in Daniel 9:26 is one of several reasons why many Bible scholars see the future “prince who is to come” as from the area of the Roman Empire, which is now more than 50% Islamic.
THE 2 WITNESSES ARRIVE: Revelation 11:3—Again, God introduces us to His team members, this time the 2 Witnesses who especially are testifying to Israel their need for the Messiah. They serve 42 months, or 1,260 days, which is 3 ½ years until the Antichrist slays them.
THE MESSIANIC JEWISH REVIVAL: Revelation 11:4—John draws from Zechariah 3-4’s two olive trees and lampstands that sparked a revival in the Old Testament time and again here in the Tribulation—among God’s chosen people of promise.
