The Roman Empire morphed into the Holy Roman Empire (German plus RCC), then the Spanish Empire, Portuguese Empire, Dutch Empire French, and finally British Empire (the largest and final Empire).
The English language became the first global language since Roman times. The Bible and missionaries were exported with the Empire to all the known world.
