It had to happen. Madani’s brand of socialism has sprung forth with even more absurdity and potential destructive power. David Strom writing for Hot Air says he isn’t trying to hold it back. In an article entitled – “Mamdani: We Need to Empty Out New York’s Jails” seems to think Mamdani would not be satisfied to leave the gangs alone but would like to give a pass to all the criminals who now are overcrowding the jails of the city.
Perhaps Mamdani thinks that since the demographics are not adding up so well for him, that a few more criminals could make the difference. It’s a sort of Biden Admin thing, let em out to vote!
There are only about 5 million registered voters in NYC. In 2021 only 23% of those voted.
Let’s think about just who is about to vote and why.
Approximately one million Jews live in NYC, it is not likely that antisemite Mamdani will gather many votes out of that field.
Estimates run as high as 600,000 people living in NYC are from Russian or former Soviet Bloc countries. Having seen the failure of communism in those countries, will they be likely to cast their vote to bring that super failure back into their lives?
Those who insist that crime is caused by the criminal justice system, and not the criminals are willing participants for now. After they become victims of crime they will migrate to the rest of the city, where law and order still look pretty good. That of course will take time – not much time left.
Squad followers and the ditzy bunch that wander around behind fake politician Ocasio Cortez have already reached for the polling booth button marked socialism for dummies.
These are the people who have not reckoned with the fact that socialisms record is everywhere – worldwide. It is not just different, it is destructive. It is not just dilettante, it is deadly.
History is strewn with the failed nations, dead adherents and hopeless prisoners of the great failed social experiment. But NYC is isolated, pompous and distracted by a new boy with a contagious smile and the latest new makeover of yesterdays Marxist communist beast of prey that refuses to crawl away and die.
NYC will never forget those who once made U.S. history as the greatest mayors of any city nationwide. Rudy Giuliani, Fiorello La Guardia – or will they?
Perhaps the scorpions are all that is left.
