The impeachment and show trial of Pres. Donald Trump is not only a terrible and wholly wrong and illegal political travesty. It is affirming as never before in American history the direct role of the demonic in American public life. Scripture tells us about Satan: “Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8). He is sending a signal to his legions of demons that they are released and free to create havoc and mayhem throughout our society. The theft, vandalism, mayhem, and murder which we saw last summer is only the prelude to what is being released by Satan on American society in the coming days, months, and years.
Wrongheaded and ungodly politicians in the House and their collaborators in the Senate have been worked up to such a fever pitch of mania and irrationality by the enemy of our souls that they are no longer simply haters or wrong doers. They are engaged in demonic signaling. The Republicans with very few exceptions are docile accomplices and thus are also vessels of demonic influence. Our government, though still banging the gavel, following Robert’s Rules of Order, and putting on a show of legitimacy in our public forums, is now sending a direct message (albeit subliminally to the spiritually un-attuned public) that the days of pure evil are upon us. A storm of maniacal mistreatment of the citizens and of property as well as persons is upon us. The demons are multiplying and flying out of the covens. They hear the call from their master who is emblazoned with a big “S,” but the “S” does not stand for Superman.
Pres. Donald J. Trump’s Senate “trial” is based upon the 80 pages of impeachment charges brought by the House. To debate the legitimacy of this event is not the point. One of Harvard Law School’s professorial legends, Alan Dershowitz, says it is un-Constitutional to impeach and vote on the removal of a man who no longer holds the Presidency. At the same time, over 170 law professors, including Lawrence Tribe, another Harvard academic icon, did an investigation into the validity of the procedure, and claims that it is Constitutional. They extrapolate this conclusion from some strange events that happened with a Secretary of War in the 19th century. Their legal gymnastics are at an Olympic-level of distortion as if they claimed they just did a five-second handstand on the parallel bars
when all they did was pass some gas while failing to qualify for the high jump event.
But this is not just a matter of legal reasoning, not only a question of whether the President’s rights to due process under the 5th and 14th Amendments are being abridged, or whether Article II applies to a President who is already out of office. It is on its face insane to say, as the above-noted professors state, that former Presidents can be impeached. This is really giving oneself over to a great delusion on a Biblical scale. This is the mentality of those who want to go around tearing down statues of people who have been respected for hundreds of years like Jefferson, Washington, Lincoln, and others. Are we now to impeach Jimmy Carter for his failure to defend the country during the Iranian hostage crisis? Should we now impeach George W. Bush and Colin Powell for literally lying to the American public about weapons of mass destruction, and bringing death and destruction on Americans in the Iraq War? Should they be impeached for enlisting us in a war that ended by shifting power away from the Sunnis of Iraq so that it became a Shi’ite (Iranian) vassal state, and this in turn led to the creation of ISIS? Was this not a betrayal of American interests warranting a retrospective impeachment? Ridiculous.
The impeachment and Senate “show trial” — reminiscent of Josef Stalin’s show trials of the mid-1930’s in the USSR — has been characterized by Pamela Geller. She wrote: “The party of treason flaunts its coup in this final act of persecution and as a bigger warning to any rational American who dares challenge the orthodoxy: You will be destroyed.” The key words here are “you will be destroyed.” Thus Pamela is beginning to touch on a spiritual matter that exceeds even her amazing courage and perception.
Demonic signaling is the complete revealing of the evil that lurks at the edges of everyday life, but sometimes (often?) reveals itself. It is the giving of the “green light” to demons to move to center stage in the life of society. Demonic signaling means “Come forth, you Luciferians and do your dirty deeds without even the need to cloak them in fake ‘virtue’ or justifications regarding legalities, traditions, customs, or other forms of public relations. Perpetrating wrongdoing no longer even has to have a façade of justification.” Although wrongdoers might justify themselves for their depredations, the context of immorality is being let loose on such a scale that there will not be any accountability for wrongs committed. Just as the impeachment and Senate events have some words of justification, but those words are irrational, and we are moving forward as an expression of evil without ANY real justification possible. The enemies of Christ are being signaled that in the warp and woof of everyday life it is now acceptable to begin depredations against persons and property.
The demonic signal is that it is ok to act demonically whether or not one’s deeds were legitimate or not in the past. Law is based upon precedent. Demonic activity always rejects precedent. We can expect real time theft, murder, assaults, property damage (arson and defacements), incarcerations of the innocent on fake charges (while truly evil ones are set free to wreak havoc), confiscations of property including money in supposedly secure assets, psychological and physical torture, detentions, politically based job firings, etc. to increase steadily. The horrible event in Washington DC is thus not merely a politically horrible event or an anomaly like the Salem witchcraft trials of a few centuries ago. As a demonic signal, it is a door opener to actions at the local as well as the national level. Our only hope is Christ Jesus. Why? Because “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36) “For in him we live, and move, and have our being;….” (Acts 17:28) “The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” (2 Co 4:4).
